Each class we will focus on a topic either chosen by you if you have specific needs or chosen by me if you like a surprise. In addition to practicing conversation I will suggest useful vocabulary, expressions or synonyms to help your English abilities grow. I will also correct any grammar problems while you are speaking to help you avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

Some topic suggestions:

• travel and world cultures

• cooking and kitchen

• hobbies and what we do in our free time

• family and friends

• anything else you can imagine!

I have a list of useful grammar topics and in the trial lesson or first lesson of the course we will take a few minutes to choose five that you most want to work on.

Some examples of topics:

• Verb tenses (past, present or future)

• Conditional

• Vocabulary on a variety of topics.

• Slang and Expressions

• Phrasal Verbs

• there are so many others we can choose from

You are also welcome to suggest topics you specifically want if there is something you have been struggling with.

Either we will discuss one portion of the exam per class and then use the last class for questions or additional work on problem areas.

OR

We can use all the classes to focus on the part of the exam that is causing you trouble, especially if you have taken the exam before and did not get the result you want.

• We will discuss what to expect from the exam.

• I will suggest tricks and tips that have helped past students.

• We will discuss strategies you can use to approach the exam.

• We will practice parts of the exam and look at example questions.

• I will give you loads of resources to use outside of class.

• We will do practice speaking exams. The other parts of the exams we will look at in parts, speaking we can do a full practice because it is shorter.
