Miroslawa Alunowska
Bio:
One desire I have is to get students from textbook knowledge of a language to actually being able to use it (on their trips would be ideal). I want them to have the confidence and brain power to express themselves in another language. I have been lucky to have traveled and studied abroad. A valuable experience I can take away from my trips is being able to speak with locals in their own language
My teaching methodology:
- discuss a magazine or newspaper article,
- watch a soap opera,
- learn the lyrics of a song,
- play memory games, or
- write your blog to express your interests.
My teaching background:
I have taught conversational English and Spanish to Oxford undergrads for five years. I adapt to the needs and level of the student. Thus, I have used different methods such as audio-lingual, the direct method or communicative language learning.
My background outside of teaching:
DPhil engineering science (interface engineering and policy) University of Oxford.
