Bio:
With 8 years of experience teaching ESL online and in the classroom, I’ve found that teaching adults who are keen to learn in a fun and engaging way has been the most rewarding part of my career. As a native speaker with a degree in Journalism and English, I bring strong communication skills, passion, and energy into my lessons. I’ve taught students aged 4 to 60 and have experience with IELTS preparation and Business English. I’m ready to help and excited to meet you.
My teaching methodology:
My students can expect relaxed, engaging lessons that feel like a natural flow conversation between friends, especially after a long day of work.
I focus on creating a comfortable space where we can talk about topics that genuinely interest you, helping you build confidence while speaking.
My lessons are flexible, and I adapt them according to your needs. We’ll explore relevant topics and use a mix of quizzes, activities, and interactive discussions to keep things engaging and practical. I also use materials like articles, videos, and real-life scenarios when needed, depending on your goals.
I provide gentle corrections and useful feedback throughout the lesson, helping you improve without interrupting your flow. Overall, my aim is to create enjoyable, personalised lessons that help you speak more naturally and confidently over time.
My teaching background:
I began my teaching career at Apax English in Vietnam in 2018. I initially worked with nursery kids and teens and had a great time learning how to keep lessons fun and full of energy. After that, I moved on to VUS, where I spent six years teaching teens and adults, both in person and conducting IELTS and Business English classes. I was lucky enough to receive the Teacher of the Year award three times, which was a nice bonus along the way.
Currently, I’m teaching kids and teens online in Turkey, and I previously taught a women’s group online with Kat School, where we focused on real-life topics, pop culture, and helping people speak more naturally without overthinking it.
Right now, I’ve got more time in my schedule and would love to work with more students and support them on their English learning journey.
My background outside of teaching:
I have an Honours degree in Journalism and spent five years working in the field as a reporter, before becoming a teacher, where I also edited my own work and captured my own photos. That experience really shaped the way I teach communication, clearly, naturally, and with a focus on real-world language.
I also work part-time as an SEO and travel writer, which ties into my love for learning about different countries, people, and cultures. I’m always curious and enjoy meaningful conversations, so my lessons often feel more like a natural exchange than a classroom. Hopefully, we’ll get to know each other along the way, and who knows, maybe even share a plate of food somewhere in the world someday
