My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
I have taught at four different schools: 4 years old to 10 years old. I taught English over four years at these schools as well as Maths and Life Orientation. During my Cambridge CELTA(Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), I taught English to adults from all over the world. A few to mention would be Brazil, Northern Africa and Saudi Arabia. I understand that learning anything can be difficult and I truly believe the teacher makes or breaks the topic being taught. I plan to teach with content that is relatable to the learner. In the past, I have used powerpoint to teach my lessons online. This allowed me to be creative and efficient. I am open to learning about other techniques. I find that making use of teaching websites in which quizzes and games are provided is efficient as well. I also like to get to know my students hobbies and interests and integrate this into my lessons. I find this captures their attention and helps them to remember the content.
My background outside of teaching:
I'm not just passionate about education, I'm passionate about creating engaging and impactful learning experiences. This unique blend stems from my diverse background. In the corporate world, I thrived as an event planner, orchestrating captivating experiences for diverse audiences. This honed my ability to read the room, understand different needs, and craft experiences that resonate with everyone. This adaptability translates seamlessly into my online classrooms, where I cultivate an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that caters to various learning styles. But my journey doesn't stop there. My current pursuit of a psychology degree at the University of Cape Town fuels my understanding of the human mind, learning processes, and individual motivations. This knowledge allows me to empathize with each student's unique challenges and tailor my approach accordingly. In my online classroom, you'll experience learning in a way that's relevant, engaging, and truly impactful.
