Samia Zitouni

Bio:

I am passionate about language and culture. I teach for around 30 years, first it was French, now Croatian as a foreign language (Since 2016). I have an extensive experience in travel and tourism. Learning a language is more a skill than knowledge. And just like I can't learn the rules of football and then play it - but would have to train - the same is with the language. In my free time I paint, read and with a group of friends go for "long distance walking.

Since university years (early 1990-ies) I have taught French here in Zagreb, Croatia. Always one-on-one and sometimes in Shcools for foreign languages. Since 2016 I teach my mother tongue - Croatian and Croatian culture to foreigners. I have a degree in French and Russian languages and literature, and also in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnography.

My background outside of teaching:

Since 2002 I am professionally in travel and tourism. Presenting and interpreting Croatian culture and history, transforming facts into experiences and meaning beccame a real passion.
