Reed James
Bio:
Hi! My name is Reed and I love speaking, reading and teaching languages. In my free time, I like playing the piano and reading good books. I love teaching, and have been doing so for the past twenty years or so. I teach conversation, because speaking is the most important component of language, as well as business English, because there are many executives and other employees who need English to do their jobs, and I want to be part of that process.
My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
I have taught in diverse settings here in Santiago, Chile. I started out with conversational English with adults in institutes as well as business English to executives at companies. I also helped children prepare for tests. After a few years, I also taught at a school from grades five to twelve.
My background outside of teaching:
I hold a Bachelor's in languages (Spanish and German). Due to my own learning process, I know what it takes to learn a foreign language; that is, I am able to see and feel what the student is going through. As a professional freelance translator, I am aware of the mechanics of languages and how students should put together sentences satisfactorily without translating directly.
