Bio:

Hi everyone, I have been teaching English for the past 28 years face-to-face and online and love communicating and meeting new people. I offer both general or business English courses to all age groups from 8 to 70 and have experience in preparing students for Cambridge tests (KET, PET, IELTS). My teaching background:

I hold both a TESOL and CELTA teaching certificate and have been teaching since I graduated in 1993 , so for nearly 30 years. I have experience teaching all age groups from 8 to 70 and currently work in a private university in Istanbul, Turkey teaching first year students English Prep. courses. I also teach and have taught one-to-one lessons actively in both a face-to-face and online environment. Apart from teaching general English to adult learners, I have also taught English to secondary school students (grades 5-8), adult learners in corporate environments and offer ESP courses such as business English and Cambridge test preparation (KET, PET, IELTS).

My background outside of teaching:

I graduated from university with. a Joint Honors Degree in French and German and have since learned Turkish while living and working in Turkey. For this reason, I have first-hand experience of what a language learner experiences, both the joys and the frustrations so I can offer expert advice on how to learn effectively with clear learning goals. I have also worked as a freelance translator and proofreader and as a result I have great attention to detail when reading and editing documents and listening to people speaking a foreign language.
