Bio:
Students should expect very engaging and stress-free classes. I know that many students already become very stressed when it comes to learning languages and some may have even had a bad experience with a language teacher in the past. I prioritize comfortability in my classes, I want the students to understand that when they come to my classes that they are able to express themselves freely. They shouldn't ever have to worry about forgetting a word or a grammar rule, that will come naturally.
My teaching methodology:
Generally I like to split my lessons in half. Half of the class we focus more on the fundamentals of the language such as grammar, vocabulary, etc. Then I like to conduct the second part of the lesson as a free flowing conversation where we talk about what we just learned or talk about another random subject which they are interested in.
I like to use videos, articles and other media to facilitate an interesting dicsussion. For each piece of media I provide a comprehensive worksheet that will guide our classes. For hard skills, I have access to textbooks with a clear guide if the student so desires.
My teaching background:
I have taught English for the past 5 years to students of all ages. I have conducted many private and group lessons and have garnered a lot of experience by teaching people from all walks of life. I have experience in teaching students who have just began their English learning journey, focusing on the basics such as grammar and vocabulary and I have also taught students who are on an advanced level who are just looking for somebody to practice their speaking skills with. I have also worked with students who may be preparing for a presentation at school or at work, or who are preparing for an English exam such as the Cambridge exams.
My background outside of teaching:
I have finished a Bachelors degree in European Studies at the Jagiellonian Universiry in Krakow and I am now currently pursuing a Masters Degree in International Security and Developement in Jagiellonian Universiry as well. I grew up on Long Island, New York and moved to Poland about 5 years ago so I understand the difficulties in learning and speaking a foreign language, espeically in a new cultural setting. I am a very open person who enjoys conversations with some depth to them, especially when it comes to culture, politics, or just about anything.
