Bio:

I am an English teacher with more than 10 years of experience teaching in language institutes, colleges, companies, and recently online. My passion for this language motivated me to study English Language and Literature in college, in order to better understand how it works at a communicative level. I have a special interest in the way phrasal verbs and idiomatic expressions convey complex concepts, and I like to make use of them in my lessons whenever pertinent.

My teaching methodology:
My students can expect interactive lessons with relevant vocabulary and real English that they can use in real context. I use an eclectic conversational method to better suit the needs of the student and the requirements of each lesson. The exercises are varied and they always aim at preparing the student for using the target inputs (grammar/vocabulary/function/etc.) in conversation. Finally, the materials come from real sources such as newspapers, magazines, TV, etc., in order for the student to be always immersed in the use of real language in real situations.
My teaching background:

I started teaching in 2006 at the language training center at my local university. After that I combined English teaching with acquiring other professional skills such as customer service. After that, I had the chance to teach in different language institutes and even local companies. Finally, in 2020, due to the pandemic emergency, I started developing new skills to adapt my teaching to different virtual environments. My experience all these years has taught me to be eclectic and in my lessons I try to make use of as much real language as possible and, depending on the learner's needs, I make use of different teaching techniques always with the aim of improving communication in real contexts. For this reason, the materials I use, mainly come from real media sources such as newspapers, TV, tutorials, articles, etc.

My background outside of teaching:

I have some experience using the language in business/professional contexts, and also in giving corporate lessons, which, altogether with the right materials allow me to provide business and academic English lessons. Similarly, from my study of the language at a literary level, I learned to simplify complex concepts and structures with the purpose of making my learners assimilate language vocabulary, grammar, and syntax with much less confusion and in easier ways.
