Hi! I’m Vanessa, an experienced English teacher from South Africa. I’ve taught children and adults from around the world, helping students improve their speaking, grammar, vocabulary and confidence. I specialise in Conversational and Business English, workplace communication, IELTS and exam preparation. My lessons are friendly, practical and interactive, and always tailored to your goals.

Students can expect friendly, supportive and engaging lessons where they feel comfortable speaking English and making mistakes without fear. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals and interests. I use a variety of materials and activities, including conversation practice, role-plays, real-life situations, vocabulary and grammar exercises, pronunciation practice, reading activities, visual materials and interactive speaking tasks. For younger learners, I also use games, flashcards, songs, props and movement-based activities to keep lessons fun and engaging. For Business English students, I focus on practical workplace communication, professional vocabulary, meetings, customer service, emails and everyday professional situations. I provide constructive corrections and personalised feedback throughout the lesson, helping students understand their mistakes and build confidence. My goal is for every student to leave each class feeling that they have learned something useful and made real progress.

I have over 4 years of experience teaching English, both in the classroom and online, to students of different ages, levels and backgrounds. I have taught young learners as well as teenagers and adults from different countries, helping them develop their speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation skills. My teaching experience includes General English, conversational English, Business English, English for the workplace, grammar, reading and exam preparation. I have also worked with young learners using phonics, songs, flashcards, games, visual materials and interactive activities to make learning enjoyable and effective. With adult learners, I focus on practical communication and building confidence through conversation, role-plays, real-life situations and personalised speaking practice. I adapt my lessons to each student's level, goals and learning style. I hold a 120-hour TEFL certificate and enjoy creating a friendly..

Alongside my teaching experience, I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Business Administration. My background in Psychology has helped me develop strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills, as well as an understanding of how different people learn and communicate. My Business Administration background also gives me an understanding of professional environments and workplace communication, which is especially useful when working with students who want to improve their Business English. I enjoy connecting with people from different cultures and learning about their experiences. I am patient, approachable and genuinely interested in helping students reach their goals.
