- Imagine you are in a meeting. You have the ideas, the expertise, and the value to offer. But when it is time to speak, the words do not come out the way you want them to. That is exactly what I am here for.
- Hi, I am Muriel, and I am a licensed professional teacher from the Philippines. I have more than 10 years of experience helping adults and professionals communicate with confidence in English.
My teaching methodology:
- What makes my teaching effective is not just my background but the way I stay actively present throughout every lesson. I use the chat to give you real-time feedback on pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as any additional notes to support your learning. Asking for clarification is encouraged, and I do my best to address any confusion right away, big or small, so that you can keep moving forward with ease.
- My lessons are structured, interactive, and immediately useful. We work through different types of lessons based on what you need most, and every class is built around keeping you engaged and making real progress.
- After each lesson, I provide a personalized learning summary to help you review the lesson content and track your progress. The summary also contains practical and targeted tips to help you understand your mistakes and avoid them over time.
- For select lessons, I include a curated fluency builder designed to expand your vocabulary and build your fluency, with model answers, vocabulary, idioms, phrases, and useful expressions you can read aloud or use as a reference outside of class. For students who want to continue practicing between classes, optional homework is available and can include vocabulary practice, comprehension exercises, and writing tasks.
My teaching background:
- I started my teaching career in grade school and high school English, and then I moved into business education at a top state university. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how language learning progresses at every level, and it showed me firsthand what workplace credibility sounds like in the real world. I have been a licensed professional teacher for more than a decade, and since 2019, I have been teaching English online to self-motivated adults and purpose-driven professionals across South America, Europe, and Asia.
- My students come to me with different goals. Some are working toward effortless everyday conversations, while others are working through the intermediate plateau or looking to advance in their careers and reach their full potential. Some are getting ready for job interviews and boardroom presentations. What they all have in common is that they are serious about making visible progress, and they leave with exactly that.
My background outside of teaching:
- Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, keeping up with current events, and exploring topics across business, culture, and technology. These interests enrich the lessons I create, and they give us plenty of relevant and engaging material to work with together.
