Bio:
I'm an experienced Global educator and ESL/EFL teacher dedicated to teaching diverse learners worldwide. Having lived and worked across seven countries (from Argentina to Japan and Germany), I offer unique expertise in cross-cultural communication, problem-solving, and language instruction. My work is fueled by a passion for active global citizenship and a commitment to service, with a focus on inspiring students, dreamers, and future generations to pursue global paths.
My teaching methodology:
My teaching methodology is a highly adaptable and student-centered approach that evolves based on the learners' age, interests, and learning environment. My role is primarily that of a facilitator and coach, focusing on inspiring and motivating students while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. I strongly believe that teaching is more than just imparting knowledge; it's a vocation centered on building trust and transmitting values. I aim to help students become the best versions of themselves by promoting self-confidence and cultural awareness. My approach is to use a variety of techniques and methodologies, acknowledging the unique needs of each individual while constantly seeking professional development to keep your skills current. The key Methodologies I implement are:
  • Student-Centered Learning: I focus on developing communicative skills through real-world tasks and problem-solving. I make grammar practice more relevant by contextualizing it.
  • Project-Based Learning (PBL): This is a crucial approach for adults. I use projects to create meaningful and memorable lessons that allow students to develop skills like critical thinking, collaboration, and self-management. The goal is to produce something authentic that gives purpose to learning new language skills.
  • Blended Learning: This allows students to work at their own pace and optimize their time while still having opportunities to practice and engage with authentic material.
My teaching background:
I consider myself a highly experienced and versatile educator. I possess a comprehensive background in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) across diverse age groups and educational settings, from young children to university students and business professionals. My expertise spans various teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and student assessment, complemented by administrative and teacher training roles. My experience includes teaching grammar, literature, phonetics, and business English, as well as preparing students for international exams such as FCE and TOEFL. My teaching philosophy prioritizes creating an encouraging and supportive learning environment, connecting with each student, and promoting cross-cultural understanding. I am skilled in using technology to enhance learning and fostering values such as cooperation, friendliness, and respect.
My background outside of teaching:
As a curious global educator, avid traveler, and amateur photographer, I've embraced a nomadic life and the practice of slow travel. This approach allows me to truly immerse myself in new places, connect with local cultures, and capture their unique stories through my camera lens. Additionally, I've been a bookworm my entire life, but my love for literature deepened while studying to become an English teacher and completing my master's in intercultural studies. Currently, I run an online book club, sharing my love for stories with a global community. My love for movement and rhythm is another way I connect with the world. My passions for dancing and Zumba are not just a form of exercise, but a way to celebrate life and culture through movement. Finally, as a cat lover, I have learned the importance of aiming for a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Cats are masters of living in the moment, and their presence has taught me to find stillness and tranquility in my daily routine.
