Bio:
Hello, My name is Ayodeji. I am a native English Speaker and a certified TEFL English teacher. I specialize in Conversational and Business English, Exam Preparation (TOEFL/IELTS), Pronunciation and Accent Reduction, Grammar Improvement, Vocabulary Development, Workplace Communication, Presentations and Interview Skills. I am fun and patient.
Students in my classes can expect to achieve their dream of becoming proficient users of the English Language in writing, speaking, and comprehension.
My teaching methodology:
- Students in my classes can expect to achieve their dream and aim of becoming proficient users of the English Language in listening, writing, speaking and comprehension through learner - centered, conversational, engaging, supportive, well - structured and fun lessons.
- My teaching approach is communicative and interactive, using as appropriate; Total Physcial Response (TPR), role - play, and contextual learning.
- I rely on speaking - based activities, pronunciation practice, reading comprehension, and sentence construction activities. I am comfortable sharing and explaining learning materials in a virtual classroom using visual aids, slides, flashcards, etc., to make lessons clear, engaging and easy to understand.
My teaching background:
I am a certified TEFL teacher with over seven years of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language in both online and in - person settings. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners including children, teenagers and adults, helping them develop confidence and proficiency in English for academic, professional, and personal purposes.
Over the years, I have taught different learners at levels: Absolute beginners (A1), Elementary speakers (B1), Lower intermediate (B2), Upper intermediate (C1), Lower proficiency (C2) and High proficiency.
My background outside of teaching:
Outside of teaching, I have a professional background in Microbiology, where I gained experience in laboratory analysis, research procedures, quality control and data interpretation. My training strengthened my attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to follow structured processes which has enhanced my effectiveness as an educator.
