Chiara Barbagallo

Hi! My name is Chiara. I am 30 years old, and I come from Italy. I have more than 5 years of experience as a tutor both for Italian language and History of Art to students of all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced learners. In my lessons, I create a personalized learning path tailored to your specific needs, goals, and age. I use a wide variety of materials: from classic grammar exercises and texts, to songs, and even artworks to describe and discuss together.

Learning should never be boring, so in our lessons we can use as many materials and do as many different activities as possible:

• song lyrics
• artworks
• create your own vocabulary
• translate text from English into Italian and reverse
• grammar exercises
• speaking prompts
• listening activities

I have over 5 years of experience teaching Italian online to students of all ages and levels. Since I teach to various types of students, with different ages, needs and interests, I am very flexible in adapting lessons to best fit you! That's why, for exemple, with little kids, we play interactive games and we draw; while with advanced students, we translate culture texts from English. This experience, taught me to take advantage of any media and material for lessons to make them always engaging and dynamic. So, I use not only classic grammar exercises and texts, but also songs, artworks, books you love...

Thanks to my C1 certificate in English, I can easily communicate with you to clarify the trickier aspects of Italian grammar. Plus, my background—that includes a master’s degree in Art History, a bachelor’s degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage, and academic studies in Italian literature—allows me to naturally weave cultural insights, art, and history into our lessons, making your language journey both rich and fascinating.
