Bio:
Hello, I'm Rachel, a qualified ESL teacher from Scotland, now living in Czech Republic I look forward to helping you reach your English learning goals. In class, we can enjoy relaxed, friendly conversation (I love meeting new students, so don't be shy!) and I will guide the conversation to help you speak as much as possible, helping with any corrections, pronunciation or vocabulary that you need.
My teaching methodology:
I'm a relaxed, friendly, patient and professional teacher who wants you to feel at ease from the very first lesson. In our lessons, you can build your confidence and skills as you study in a warm and encouraging learning environment. You are unique! As we work together, I will guide the lessons to support your personal goals and learning style, making sure to develop your weak areas and build on your strengths, I teach:
- General Conversation
- Grammar Support and Pronunciation
- IELTS Speaking Exam Practice and Coaching ( 5+ years experience)
- Worksheets (good for homework)
- Engaging articles or videos for conversation, discussions or reading practice.
My teaching background:
My strengths lie in helping students gain speaking confidence which is what I focus on today. I have more than 15 years experience working in language schools and kindergartens, and as a private tutor for children, business and general English students. My qualifications include: TESOL (INTESOL UK, 2006), Teaching IELTS (Cambridge Teachers 2014) and Teaching with Excellence (British Council 2015). As well as working in traditional learning spaces, I have been working online for more than 5 years, meeting students from all over the world.
My background outside of teaching:
I originally studied at Art College before I became a teacher, and now I teach English part-time. I have traveled a lot due to my husband's job as a tour guide! We have lived and travelled in East Asia, Central Asia and Europe. I'm also a mum and enjoy cycling or hiking in nature with my family whenever we have a chance and love meeting people from different cultural backgrounds to my own.
