Bio:
Hello! My name is Sophie. I was born in England. I have been living in Australia for the last 8 years but now I am living in Peru. I love to be by the ocean, I surf almost everyday! I have traveled to many countries and met so many different people from different places. I love meeting new people! I really enjoy teaching English and connecting with people through a new language.
My teaching methodology:
- Discussions about interesting topics
- Conversations to improve sentence structure and tenses.
- Activities that help you learn new words and phrases.
- Games that help you relax, have fun and boost your confidence.
- Listening, writing and reading activities
My teaching background:
I love to meet new people by having interesting conversations and learning about their culture. I have been teaching English in a local school in Peru for the last 5 months. My students are from ages 11 years to 40 years old. I teach basic to intermediate level English and I also teach advanced English for students who are wanting to work on Cruise Ships. I have worked with Children for the last 9 years in a school environment. I am a very kind, patient person who is enthusiastic about teaching. I find teaching Children to be a fun experience and I learn a lot too while teaching them!
My background outside of teaching:
I have traveled to many countries and have experienced many different cultures. This year I traveled to South America and now I am living in Peru. I am used to talking to people from many different countries so I know to talk slower and clearer. I am learning Spanish, so I know how it feels to learn a new language. I know it can be frustrating and that it takes a lot of patience but it feels great when you learn new words or your conversations improve! Learning a new language can be a lot of fun and will give you confidence when travelling, in your work and talking to new people.
