Bio:
I am Valeria and I am a professional Italian and Mandarin Teacher. I hold a CEDILS certificate to teach Italian to foreigners, a Ph. D in Chinese Studies and the HSK 6 certificate. I adapt my lesson according to your interests and needs. I teach general, academic and business Italian and Mandarin. I can also help you prepare for language exams. My communicative approach allows students to speak without inhibitions. I use authentic materials which reflect different aspects of everyday life.

My teaching background:
I have taught Italian, Chinese and English as foreign languages in China, Italy and the UK. I have lectured to group classes at University, Middle and High School. I also have experience giving private lessons 1-to-1 in person and online to seniors and professionals from Europe, Asia and America. Since 2021 I’ve been working as Online Italian Teacher and I enjoy it very much because I have the chance to virtually meet students from all over the world. I believe that every student should have access to the best materials and technology to make their learning process as much fruitful as possible. I love teaching as well as I love creating new learning materials for each of my students to help them achieve a higher level of Italian.
My background outside of teaching:
I graduated from L'Orientale University in Italy with a MA in Comparative Studies (Chinese and English), and later I obtained a PhD in Chinese Studies. I know very well what a student demands to enjoy a language class and what it takes to learn a new language: I learned Chinese Mandarin from scratch to a C2 level. Infact I obtained an HSK 6. I am very fluent in English (thanks to my studies and 7 years living in London). I’m currently improving my Spanish and learning Greek.
