Bio:
I'm a native English speaker and I have been teaching English in South Korea since 2008. I will be your English coach. We'll practice together and I'll show you how to improve and use English more like a native speaker. I will also help you to find fun resources to practice and improve outside of the classroom. We'll have a lot of fun and your confidence and ability will improve.
My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
I have been living and teaching English in South Korea for the past 15 years. During this time, I have worked in public schools, after-school academies, private industry and local government. More recently, I have begun concentrating on private tutoring because I find this the most effective and the most fulfilling. I have helped countless students of all ages and backgrounds to improve their English, and I have learned a lot myself in the process. Living in a foreign country, and struggling to learn the language and understand the culture, has helped me to understand my students' difficulties - and how to help fix them.
My background outside of teaching:
I have a wide range of interests, including anthropology and the social sciences, computer programming and data science, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities, music, philosophy, cinema, literature, economics... I'm always open to learning new things, and if you have a particular interest or goal in mind, we can probably work it into our classes and explore it together.
