Bio:
Hello! I’m Diana. I was born in Spain but currently live in Peru. I have years of experience as a teacher, working with both children and adults, and I love getting to know new cultures and connecting with different people. My classes will help you overcome the fear of speaking, gaining confidence and fluency. Let’s connect!
My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
My first teaching experience was 7 years ago, in 2017. I taught English to children, teenagers, and adults in Nicaragua. With the children, the classes focused on grammar and vocabulary. With the adults, we held what we called 'rap sessions' where we had conversation circles. Since then, I have continued to gain experience as a teacher in different contexts, teaching languages and other subjects (environment, literature, sports...) to children, and conducting workshops on various topics for adults. I really enjoy having conversations with people from all over the world. I find it very enriching and feel that I learn a lot.
My background outside of teaching:
Through all my travels, I have been able to experience different cultures and meet people from many countries and backgrounds. Since I'm used to speaking with people whose mother tongue is different from mine, I easily switch gears when I’m in these situations to speak more slowly and clearly. I have also been a language student, not only with English and French (languages I learned as a child and teenager, respectively) but also with languages I started learning as an adult, such as German, which I began in university. This has helped me understand the difficulties that language students face and to be very patient."
