Louis Mihingano
Bio:
My name is Louis, a certified French teacher with 20+ years' experience. Graduated from France, I hold a master's degree in didactics of French as a foreign language. I teach at all levels to students of all ages, from diverse backgrounds and within a variety of learning environments including universities, colleges, language schools, organizations... Passionate educator, I'm committed to helping my students learn French and achieve their academic or communicative goals with great performance.
My teaching methodology:
- Students will expect a fun, engaging, enjoyable and supportive learning environment in which they feel to be really at the center of the learning, as far as lessons are adapted to their interests, needs and specific goals.
- The classes will be as much interactive and participative as possible: students will be immersed in intense communicatives activities with a lot of practice.
- Materials I like to use are basically digital text, grammar and activities books, then videos and audios, dictionaries, whiteboard, different types of 'authentic documents' according to the needs and levels of students, podcasts, songs,...
- The types of exercices in a particular class session will depend on various factors: the specific skills or competency and topics concerned, the level of students, if individual or group class, etc., and in all cases, they are aligned with the objectives and content. So they will vary accordingly, and can be interactive exercises, conversations, debates, investigation, role-playing, problem solving, games, reading and summarizing, collaborative project, writing, listening, filling out materials, etc...
- Evaluations suggestions already provided in the documents I use imply the three main dimensions diagnostic, summative and formative, and include written or oral questions, tasks or problem situations in which learners must mobilize their knowledge, skills and attitudes to find solutions, etc.
