Bio:
I worked in the electronics and automotive industry for over 10 years. I got the chance to move to the Czech Republic & never looked back! I passed by TEFL in Prague in 2011 and I taught English around east Czech for 5 years. Since 2016 I became a Freelance English teacher "on the road". I worked and travelled around Europe. Now I live between the UK and Czechia.
My teaching methodology:
I work with a massive amount of resources, but I like to concentrate on communication. I try to use a wide range of activities to help your learning. From TED talks, to podcasts, to news websites and interactive online games I will personalise your course and so you always come away with something relevant and immediately usable in your life.
My teaching background:
I passed my TEFL qualification in Prague in 2011 and went onto to teach managers and professionals in an an electronics factory. I went Freelance after a few years and signed up with some language agencies teaching teenagers and adults alike for the PET, FCE, CAE and even some for the PCE examinations. I taught, face to face, one to one classes and groups. I worked in secondary schools in Czechia, preparing students for their Maturita exams. It is one thing to read the grammar rules. It's something totally different to discuss topics with a native speaker. I moved online in 2016. It was a big change, but it allowed me to move around Europe freely. I have a massive amount of resources and I like to tailor my courses to the individual student. Now I am building learning websites and apps to help make English much more fun.
My background outside of teaching:
I've worked in a variety of industries. I started out in high street retail with electronic goods and home decorating supplies. Then I moved to an electronics factory and moved up the ranks from assembler to stock control, purchasing, sales and onto database administration. I can help with your business English needs as I have years of experience. I have always loved computing and I spend a lot of time working with databases and websites. I am now building interactive websites and apps for my students. If you are technical then I have many questions for you!
