Bio:

Hi, my name is Edgar! I have a TEFL certificate of 150 hours with 3 years of teaching experience. I studied Elementary Education specializing in ESL, and I've also studied Mass Communications. I have taught online & physical school. I specialize in TPR which stands for "Total Physical Response" I also specialize in conversational English, vocabulary, writing, travel, and interview presentations, I enjoy teaching and working with all types of students according to their needs and goals.

My teaching methodology:
Honestly, it all depends on my student's needs, level, and object. My teaching methodology is personalized, If it's students that are looking into conversating English or Spanish, I do practice activities and have them speak, and conversate regarding the topic. I like to also vary, sometimes I can do grammar rules with my students, tongue twister activities. It really depends on my students goal, I also like to identify what kind of learner is my student. My classes are fun and entertaining, I specialize in TPR which is a total physical response. I enjoy teaching and working with all types of students. I have taught English to children online and in physical schools, tutored, and volunteered. I am fun, dynamic, entertaining, and outgoing. I have also teaches business English, or just formal conversational class. My main goal is to help my student to overcome his/her fears in speaking English. It's okay if they feel nervous, shy, or frustrated, no problem. If my student is here is because they have committed yourself in learning English, and now I will commit in helping them improve their communication skills in English. It's okay if they make a mistake, no problem, I'm here to help.
My teaching background:

Back in 2020 during the pandemic, I started teaching online for the first time because I was doing community service to graduate from my second major in Mass communications & Journalism. I started teaching 6th-grade students all kinds of subjects: Spanish, math, and history, from there I found out I enjoy teaching online. Then I started looking into online teaching platforms and I still teach English on another one called Preply, and here I am. I have also taught Spanish, and during my travels, I've been teaching Spanish. In total, I have been teaching for 3 years, I completed a TEFL certificate of 150. In the beginning, I was focusing on TPR, but over time I was getting and working with all kinds of students that are looking into conversational. I have also worked with students looking into pronunciation, general learning, vocabulary, and business English, and I have worked with all ages from young learners to elderly, with me there's no age preference.

My background outside of teaching:

Aside from teaching languages, and as someone that studied Mass Communications. I've also freelanced and I'm still freelancing as a Digital Marketer. I do Social Media Management, Copywriting, SEO, Graphic Design, and Editing Videos. I'm currently taking a few certifications and courses in Digital Marketing, I'm also learning about UX/UI Design. I've also worked as sells man, and customer service representative, and I've been volunteering in hostels. Aside from teaching in the future, I plan to give Digital Marketing courses or TedTalks. Since I'm currently travelling, but at the same time staying as a base in one place. I like to go biking, salsa dancing, and to interexchange events, where there are all kinds of cultures.
