My teaching background:
I have taught children and adults at all levels, but I am the most effective working with adults. I have been teaching English for about 3 years, during which I have had the pleasure of working with students from a variety of countries and cultural backgrounds. My students have included business owners, managers, engineers, parents, cybersecurity professionals, lawyers, doctors, surgeons, high school and university students, clerical staff, customer service staff, sales persons, headhunters, staff training personnel, office managers, medical researchers, investment consultants, marketers, English teachers, travel lovers, and many, many more.
My background outside of teaching:
I am a native English speaker from the United States. I grew up in a very small town in the state of Texas, but lived in and around Austin, Tx for most of my life. I moved to the mountains of central Mexico about 4 years ago, so I am having fun learning a new culture and speaking Spanish. I have worked in a variety of roles in the field of education and rehabilitation of people with blindness, visual impairment, and deafblindness. I loved my work, but I was ready for something totally new. I tried commercial writing for a while after retiring from my career, but I missed working with people. That and the need to work in multiple locations led me to English teaching. I am so glad to be here!
