Bio:
Hi! I’m Nola, a passionate and friendly English teacher with nearly five years of experience. I’ve taught students from age 7 to 60+, helping them build confidence, improve pronunciation, and speak naturally. I create fun, interactive lessons tailored to each student’s needs, using tools like Twinkl and Cambridge materials etc. I speak five South African languages and love bringing energy and creativity into every class. Let’s make English enjoyable and meaningful together!
My teaching methodology:
*Materials are carefully selected to match the student’s level and interests, including articles, videos, and interactive exercises. *I use a variety of activities such as role-plays, discussions, and pronunciation drills to keep lessons lively and effective. * Upon request, I give out homework and weekly vocabulary lists to reinforce new language and help students practice outside class. *Regular evaluations through speaking tasks and quizzes help track progress and identify areas for improvement. *I encourage students to ask questions and practice spontaneously to build fluency and comfort with English.
My teaching background:
I’ve been teaching English online for nearly five years, working with students from around the world — especially from Europe and Asia. I’ve taught learners aged 7 to 60+, and I specialize in creating fun, interactive, and personalized lessons that build real confidence. I hold a TEFL certificate and use a range of materials, including Twinkl and Cambridge resources. My teaching style is energetic, patient, and focused on communication, pronunciation, and fluency. I’ve worked one-on-one and in groups, helping students prepare for exams, improve conversation skills, and develop a love for English. My background in performing arts allows me to bring creativity into my classes, and my experience with international students has made me adaptable, culturally aware, and very student-focused. Teaching is my passion, and every lesson is a chance to inspire and connect!
My background outside of teaching:
I’m a passionate, multilingual South African with a dynamic background that blends communication, creativity, and care. Outside of teaching, I’ve worked in customer service, call centres, and as a data capturer — roles that sharpened my attention to detail and people skills. I’ve also led meetings for international au pair programs, supporting young adults through major life changes. I speak five official languages, which helps me connect easily with students from diverse backgrounds. I have a creative streak too — I sing, dance, act, and model, which adds flair and fun to my lessons. I’m also a fitness lover and enjoy staying active. Altogether, my experience has taught me how to connect, guide, and uplift people — qualities I bring into every class I teach.
