Bio:
I earned my CELT-P certification while working for the school as a teaching assistant. I passed the teaching practice in our school and I gained experience with primary school students. I worked for the St. Regis Tianjin Hotel as a telephone operator, and for my next job, I worked at a charity to help orphans in China. From a young age, I also fostered a love of writing, and have had articles published in our local Tianjin newspaper "Holiday 100" from middle school to university.

My teaching background:
I earned my CELT-P certification while working for the school as a teaching assistant. I passed the teaching practice in our school and I gained experience with primary school students. I worked for the St. Regis Tianjin Hotel as a telephone operator, and for my next job, I worked at a charity to help orphans in China. From a young age, I also fostered a love of writing, and have had articles published in our local Tianjin newspaper "Holiday 100" from middle school to university. I also work for an American telecommunications company, calling operators to make sure lines are working. I think this experience will help me teach business Chinese. Everyone is different, so I want to know more about you. In particular, why you're learning Mandarin, what your level is, what you struggle with and how I can help you. I find grammar-heavy teaching methods ineffective - there is more to language learning than memorizing grammar rules!
My background outside of teaching:
Hello, it is my honor to introduce myself to you. My name is Xin and I want to help you improve your Mandarin! I am a native Mandarin speaker from China who can speak English and I know a little Cantonese. I could teach you Mandarin as it is the language of government and education and teach you both simplified and traditional Chinese characters. I have a degree in Business English, an FCE Cambridge English Certificate and a CELT-P Primary English Teaching Certificate, and have several years of experience working in the international education industry. I work with secondary school kids everyday at school and am happy to teach children or adults. For children learning Mandarin, I would introduce stories and pictures in my class. For the HSK exam, I teach up to and including level 6.
