Bio:
My teaching experience has taught me that communication is the key to learning to speak and understand English effectively. The more you communicate the more your confidence will grow. As your confidence develops, learning English becomes easier, faster, and a more fun experience. This is the reason why my classes are conversationally based. I also specialize in preparing my students for employment, visas, and educationally related interviews. Among my interests are travel and art and design.
My teaching methodology:
My teaching background:
I have ten years of experience teaching English as a second language to university students. I have also taught students English privately, and online. My several years of online teaching have sharpened my teaching and conversational skills. I have taught students from all age groups, and backgrounds on a global level. Typically after chatting informally with the students I can determine their interests as well as their strengths and weaknesses as far as their English goes. I can use this information as well as online videos to construct a lesson that not only focuses on improving all aspects of their English but offers a fun and motivating lesson also. My online teaching has also resulted in my having gained valuable experience in specialized interview techniques for students wishing to gain a visa, employment, or acceptance into an educational institution. I've helped my students pass interviews for jobs ranging from working on cruise ships to government positions.
My background outside of teaching:
One of the things in life that I enjoy most is conversing. I have found that my liking for conversation has helped me form lasting friendships with many of my students. During my travels, I have visited Morocco, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia as well as the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Paraguay, and Peru. I have found that my experiences and explorations of ancient cultures have inspired me greatly in my art and design endeavors. I made several animated movies while at art college which were mostly to do with various imaginary cartoon characters that I made up. I am not particularly drawn toward politics, but I believe that this planet needs saving and I am a supporter of ecological projects and ONGs, In closing, I would like to say that in this age of programming, codes, and digital technology, I think it's important for one to hold onto one's individuality and creativity.
