Bio:
Hello! My name is Tess, I am from Australia however I currently live in Peru. I studied Anthropology and Communications at university and I am also a Holistic Kinesiology therapist!
I love travelling. I love learning about different cultures, which is why I love teaching English. It allows me to connect with, talk to and learn from people from around the world as I teach and help them improve their English.
My teaching methodology:
I love to have interesting conversations and learning from my students! I like to discuss everyday life, share interesting news and read articles with my students.
When working with children I love using art, pictures, storytelling and games, you can expect a range of teaching techniques in my classes.
In my classes for adults, I like to tailor my classes to their needs, whether they are seeking business and professional english or wanting to improve their english for fun. My classes are well rounded, based mostly on conversation fluency, as well as touching on writing, grammar and cultural differences in the workplace (and world!)
My teaching background:
I have been teaching english for 7 years now, I am TEFL qualified and I love working with students from around the world.
I have taught a wide range of students between the ranging from 4 years old to Adult. I have taught students from Europe, South America and China, and I have a lot of classroom experience working in schools with children in Australia.
My background outside of teaching:
I pride myself on being patient and kind. I am from Australia however i live in Peru, since moving to South America I have learnt Spanish.
My personal journey of learning another language has allowed me to become a much better teacher. I understand that learning a new language is difficult, it takes time, patience and lots of practise! I am here to support all of my students on their own journey to becoming more confident in English.
